Ceramic printing
Ceramic printing is a permanent, high-quality marking technique that is mainly applied to ceramic items. However, some variations of this technique can be adapted for other materials such as glass, enameled metal and porcelain.
How does it work?
The logo is printed on special paper with inks suitable for ceramics. The paper is then moistened and applied to the product with a spatula or sponge. The objects are then put in the oven to cook at a high temperature. The heat will melt the paper and the logo will adhere perfectly to the ceramic. There are two types of ceramic printing: the low-temperature one, possible for logos up to 8-10 full colors, and the high-temperature one, more resistant but usable only for white and/or black.
What can I have printed and where?
Ceramic printing is a versatile technique because it allows you not only to customize many types of ceramic items such as cups, cups, plates, teapots, ashtrays, etc., but also to place your logo in smaller printing areas, such as the bottom and handle of a cup or inside it.
Pros and cons of ceramic printing
Pros
- The use of the microwave and dishwasher does not ruin the print;
- Decorate the object on large and small print areas.
Cons
- You can print logos only up to 8-10 full colors;
- Cooking at high temperature does not allow an exact match of Pantone colors. For example, light inks may appear slightly darker.
